Annual Dinner

The MACDL Annual Dinner and Silent Auction will take place on Saturday March 3, 2012. The Dinner will start at 6:00 with happy hour and the annual Board meeting. Dinner will be served at 7:00 and the live auction will run from 6:00 until 8:30. There again will be a live auction featuring the immutable Tom Shiah as auctioneer.

Members are encouraged to start thinking about items to donate for either the live or silent auction. Money raised at the Annual Dinner is used to fund the MACDL lobbying efforts at the state capital. MACDL has emerged as a recognized voice at the capital for issued dealing with criminal justice and the money earned at the Annual Dinner helps to further our profile and effect.

MACDL Golf Tournament

The MACDL Golf Tournament will be held at the Stillwater Country Club on Monday August 29, 2011. Tee-off will be at 1:00 sharp. A luncheon will be served prior to the start of the tournament. The cost is $135.00 and includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, lunch, and the opportunity to mingle with some of the best criminal defense professionals in the Midwest!

2011 Fall CLE

MACDL will be hosting the annual Fall CLE on Friday October 7, 2011 at the Chambers Hotel in downtown Minneapolis.

This year’s CLE will have a theme of trial skills and useful sentencing information. The slate of speakers will include practicing attorneys, psychologists, and law professors who will provide practical tips for:

Conducting psychological evaluations
Evaluating client competency
Challenging hearsay

The CLE will start with Registration at 8:30 and introductory comments at 9:00.

A buffet breakfast will be served with box lunches provided.

Monthly Board Meeting

The MACDL Board of Director’s Meeting takes place on the third Thursday of every month. The meeting starts at 5:30 and runs until 6:30 at the Hennepin County Public Defender’s Office located at 701 Fourth Avenue South, Suite 1400, Minneapolis, MN 55415.

All MACDL members are free to attend the meetings and are encouraged to get involved on committees.
